Fundamentals of business..

This is just a personal overview where I would like to relate fishing to doing business. Basically, doing business is not much different from fishing. The common concerns of a company are always things like objective, product, strategy, marketing, operation, sales, target market & revenue (or profit). Quite similarly in fishing, you need to identify the type of fish that you're looking for. This is important because if you don't get the right bait for the fish, you'll never be able to catch any of them. Other than bait, you'll also have to have a fishing rod, fishing line as well as fishing tools. Apart of getting the right bait for the right fish, you'll also need to know the size of hooks that you're going to use. You cannot use small hooks for big fish, or big hooks for small fish.

And if all your fishing parts are complete, then another question gets into your mind. Where to fish~? Either you are going to fish at the lake, river or sea.. It'll be ok if you're only heading to lake or river. But, if you're fishing at the sea.. you'll have to get a boat. Lake, river and ocean are your market segments while boat is your 'company'. You don't need a boat if you're fishing at a lake or river, but still you may wanna drive your car to go to those places. Car is also considered as your company. It doesn't matter where you're fishing at, competitors are always there. They share your segmented market and your target market too. Let say you're fishing in a boat (at the ocean).. I'm sure you know the wideness of the ocean. You cannot simply decide where to drop the anchor. You need to know where is the best focal point so that you can obtain lots of fish. Or else, you might be wasting long hours without getting any. If you're not so sure, you need to refer to those who know. Then only it will be worth running your 'operation'..


Within an hour, you can either get some big fishes or you don't get anything. This is the risk that all 'fishermen' are taking. It happens that your friends, or perhaps, other fishermen have already managed a dozen. This is the point when you feel like wanting to change your 'strategy'.. but it is not compulsory. You may wanna spend another hour with hopes for more better lucks.. but then you could never convince yourself that the next hour will promise you something in return. Think smart~! If you're confident, then give it a shot.. and if you're not, this is the time to change your strategy in order to achieve your 'revenue'. And later you succeed.. a very big catch~! If your successful catch was achieved by your own effort, definitely the revenue is totally yours. But if it was achieved with involvement of few other hands, you have to share the revenue with them.

Those are the connectivities that I found exist between fishing and doing business. It is so important that you are aware of all the requirements before you proceed. If you get the whole picture of what I am trying to tell by a single read through.. I guess you're a business minded person. Go for it babe~! You are on the right platform. Stop wasting your time bringing in business for someone else, and start thinking of running your own business.
